We have come to the end of my "5 days of desserts" series. It has been a joy creating this recipes for you! I wanted to leave you with a simple, yet flavorful recipe to end the series!

You want something that captures the flavors of the season, delights your guests, and doesn't leave you tied to the kitchen for hours. Enter my festive Apple Cranberry Crumble - a warm, comforting dessert packed with the best flavors of fall and winter.


With a golden, buttery topping and a tart-yet sweet filling, this crumble is a perfect blend of holiday nostalgia and simplicity. Whether you're gathering for Thanksgiving, Christmas, or another celebration of the season, this recipe will be a crowd-pleaser if there ever was one. And, it comes together in under an hour with no complicated steps or chilling required.

Apple Cranberry Crumble Recipe

Yield: 6 servings

Serving size: Approx. 1 cup


Ingredients:


For the filling:

  • 4 medium apples, peeled, cored, and sliced (honeycrisp, gala, or granny smith are great options!)

  • 1 cup fresh cranberries

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp apple pie spice (or 1/2 tsp cinnamon and 1/2 tsp nutmeg)

  • 1/4 cup apple cider


For the crumble topping:

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats

  • 1/3 cup brown sugar

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted

  • 1/3 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (*optional)


Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Grease a 9x9 inch baking dish or similar sized dish.

  2. In a large bowl, combine the apples, cranberries, granulated sugar, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and apple cider. Toss until evenly coated.

  3. Pour the filling into the prepared dish and spread it out evenly.

  4. In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Stir in the melted butter until the mixture forms crumbly clumps. (Add chopped nuts now if using.)

  5. Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the fruit filling. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.

  6. Let the crumble cool for 5 minutes before serving. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for a festive touch.
