No-Bake Fireside Squares Recipe

Yield: 9-12 squares

Serving size: 1 square

Ingredients:

For the crust:
  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar

  • Pinch of salt (or omit if using salted butter)

For the marshmallow layer:
  • 3 cups mini marshmallows

  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk

  • 1 1/2 cups white chocolate chips, melted

For the chocolate ganache:
  • 1 cup semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

For the topping:
  • 8 Kinder Bueno bars, split into single pieces (16 total)

  • 1/4 cup white chocolate chips, melted (for securing the Kinder Bueno on top)

Directions:

  1. In a medium bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and granulated sugar. Mix until the crumbs are evenly coated and resemble wet sand.

  2. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9x9 inch pan lined with parchment paper. Chill in the fridge for 10-15 minutes while preparing the marshmallow layer.

  3. In a large bowl, gently mix the mini marshmallows with the sweetened condensed milk until fully coated.

  4. Fold in the melted white chocolate chips until the mixture is smooth and evenly combined.

  5. Pour the marshmallow mixture over the chilled graham cracker crust, smoothing it out with a spatula. Return to the fridge to set for 15 minutes.

  6. Heat the heavy cream in a small saucepan or in the microwave until just simmering (not boiling) Pour the hot cream over the chocolate chips in a small bowl. Let sit for 2-3 minutes, then stir until smooth and glossy.

  7. Allow the ganache to cool slightly before pouring it over the marshmallow layer. Spread evenly with a spatula. Place into the fridge for 15-20 minutes.

  8. Melt the white chocolate chips to "glue" the Kinder Bueno pieces on. Space them out so that when you cut into squares, there is a Kinder Bueno in the middle of each one. Place into the fridge for at least 2 hours (more is always better!)

  9. Once chilled, lift the bars out using the parchment paper and slice into 9-12 squares, depending on how big you want them. For clean cuts, use a sharp knife warmed under hot water and wiped dry between cuts.

Pro tips for the perfect squares:

  • Press the crust firmly: Use the bottom of a measuring cup to ensure a compact crust that holds together.

  • Don't skip the chill time: Each layer needs time to set for clean, distinct layers.

  • Mix it up: Swap in your favorite candy bar if Kinder Bueno isn't your go-to.

Storage: Keep these squares in an air-tight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. I do not recommend freezing.
