Homemade Salted Caramel Sauce Recipe

Yield: Approximately 1 cup

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter, cut into pieces

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

  • 1 tsp sea salt

Directions:

  1. In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, heat the sugar over medium heat. Stir constantly with a whisk or wooden spoon until the sugar melts and turns amber in color.

  2. Once the sugar has melted completely, add the butter and stir until melted and well combined.

  3. Slowly pour in the heavy cream while stirring constantly. Be careful as the mixture will bubble up.

  4. Allow the mixture to boil for about 1 minute, then remove from heat.

  5. Stir in the sea salt until well combined.

  6. Let the caramel sauce cool for a few minutes before using.

  7. Drizzle over brownies, ice cream, or add a spoonful to your coffee for a delicious treat!
